Uzbekistan is introducing a new system in the fight against drug abuse. Citizens who report illegal drug trafficking or help uncover such activities will now be rewarded with special incentives, according to government sources.
Under the presidential decree, the procedure for rewarding will be developed by the Agency for the Control of Narcotics and Firearms and submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers. The measure aims to strengthen the fight against drug-related crimes through active public participation.
In addition, the Ministry of Internal Affairs will organize training for prevention inspectors by the end of 2025 to identify illegal drug laboratories and underground packaging sites. Officers who perform effectively will be rewarded using off-budget funds.
By March 1, 2026, law enforcement agencies will be equipped with modern tools designed for rapid detection of narcotic substances.
Furthermore, measures against the circulation of psychotropic and strong-acting substances will be intensified. Separate strict liability will be established for crimes involving minors and youth.
The new initiative is aimed not only at combating crime but also at ensuring the conscious involvement of society.
