Artificial lakes will be built in Tashkent to improve air quality

In order to improve the quality of atmospheric air and ensure microclimate stability in the city of Tashkent, artificial lakes and reservoirs will be created. This is stated in the presidential decree "On urgent measures to improve the environmental situation in the city of Tashkent."

According to the decree, the Ministry of Water Resources, in cooperation with JSC "Uzsuvtaminot," must create at least three artificial lakes and reservoirs in the eastern, western, northern, and southern regions of Tashkent within three months. They serve to reduce dust in the air, maintain a stable microclimate, and improve bioecology.

The decree also sets the task of washing trees and shrubs along the main roads three times a week during the summer and autumn seasons, in the first half of the day. This measure is aimed at improving the city's ecology.

Also, the temporary restriction on the use of drinking water for irrigating trees and plants in territories owned by individuals and legal entities will be lifted in the spring and summer seasons. The restriction in effect from 23:59 to 05:00 will no longer apply.

However, the current restrictions on the use of drinking water for other purposes remain in effect. This is aimed at the targeted and responsible use of water.

Also, the number of fountains in Tashkent will be doubled. These projects will be financed from the National Fund for the Elimination of Environmental Problems.
