The number of foreigners coming to study in Uzbekistan has increased by 50%, where are they coming from the most?

In 2025, from January to October, 33,287 foreign citizens arrived in Uzbekistan for study purposes. This is 51.5% more compared to the previous year. According to the National Statistics Committee, this figure is 11,307 people higher compared to the same period in 2024.

Among the foreign students studying at higher education institutions in Uzbekistan, the largest share belongs to citizens of India and Turkmenistan. 14,322 students came from India, and 8,348 students from Turkmenistan. Additionally, students from Tajikistan, Pakistan, China, and other countries are coming to study.

This trend indicates the growth of Uzbekistan's international reputation in higher education and represents an important step in turning the country into an international education hub.
