Good news for farmers: new benefits introduced in livestock farming

New benefits and incentives are being introduced in Uzbekistan to support and rapidly develop the livestock sector. At a meeting chaired by the President, a series of important measures aimed at modernizing the industry, increasing productivity, and encouraging farmers and household farms were announced.

According to these measures, entrepreneurs importing pedigree livestock from abroad will be exempt from value-added tax (VAT) until 2029. This will reduce import costs and help increase the number of high-quality pedigree animals.

Additionally, a subsidy of 500,000 soums will be allocated for each pedigree calf born through artificial insemination in households and farms. This measure will encourage the widespread adoption of modern veterinary methods and the breeding of high-yield varieties.

Furthermore, state support for embryo transfer procedures is being strengthened. Specifically, 700,000 soums will be paid for each such procedure performed. This innovative method creates the opportunity to increase the number of high-breed livestock in a short time.

An additional 50 billion soums from the state budget is planned to be allocated to implement these initiatives. This will lay the foundation for the systematic continuation of reforms in the sector.

At the meeting, tasks were also set to allocate preferential loans for livestock development, establish a new agency to improve management in the sector, and develop special programs.
