Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Malaysia

Shawkat Mirziyoyev paid an official visit to Malaysia on the evening of February 4 at the invitation of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. The President's press service reported this.

At the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, the President of Uzbekistan was met by the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Malaysian Parliament Johari bin Abdul, Minister of Education Zambri Abdulkadir and other officials.

In honor of the visit of the Uzbek leader, an honor guard was formed, and the national flags of the two countries were raised.

Shawkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with the Speaker of the Malaysian Parliament at the airport. The agenda of the upcoming high-level meetings was exchanged.

Particular attention was paid to the issues of continuing active cooperation and exchanges within the framework of parliaments, organizing mutual visits and events of friendship groups, establishing practical cooperation in lawmaking, and assisting in the implementation of important investment, infrastructure, social, and cultural and humanitarian programs.

The main events of the visit program will take place tomorrow, February 5.

The President of Uzbekistan and the Prime Minister of Malaysia will hold high-level talks and participate in the Uzbekistan-Malaysia Business Forum. At the end of the summit, a number of intergovernmental and interdepartmental documents are expected to be signed.
