The Investigative Committee of Russia proposes to ban the sale of any alcoholic beverages to young people under the age of 21. This was announced by the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin.
"In order to prevent the consumption of alcoholic beverages among young people, it is necessary to ban the sale of alcoholic beverages to persons under the age of 21," he said at a meeting of the board of directors.
Bastrykin also proposed to consider the possibility of lowering the age of criminal responsibility for drug-related crimes from 16 to 14.
"This will help combat crimes involving teenagers involved in drugs," he added.
Last September, Russian State Duma deputy Sultan Khamzaev announced that members of parliament would prepare a bill prohibiting the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages to citizens under the age of 21.
The deputy stressed that such a measure is necessary to continue the “soft, cautious policy against alcohol.” He added that the age of consumption of alcoholic beverages should be lowered by raising the existing limit. Khamzaev believes that violators should be held administratively liable. Follow “Zamin” news on “Telegram”
