180 members of the mafia were arrested in a major operation against the mafia in Italy

In Italy, law enforcement officers have arrested 180 people as part of an operation against the Sicilian mafia.

According to police, those arrested are suspected of numerous crimes, including drug trafficking, attempted murder, extortion and illegal possession of firearms.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgi Meloni said in a post on his social media account that the operation was a "major blow to the Sicilian mafia clan Cosa Nostra."

Media reports emphasize that Coza Nostra today, on the one hand, uses methods of coordinating activities developed in the last century, and on the other hand, actively uses modern technologies such as cryptocurrency.
