What has Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov achieved in four years?
It has been four years since Sadir Japarov took office as President of Kyrgyzstan. He won the elections held on January 10, 2021, receiving 79.2% of the vote. The Kyrgyz public and press are discussing what Sadir Japarov has achieved over the past four years.

When S. Japarov came to power, the country was suffering from the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic, international relations were weakened, and the volume of external debt increased. For this reason, he focused on strengthening the economy and developing infrastructure.

The transition from parliamentary to presidential rule, the fight against corruption and organized crime, and the return of the Kumtor gold mine to state ownership are among the first measures taken by S. Japarov.

According to information, over the 28 years that the Kumtor mine was owned by a foreign company, more than 420 tons of gold were mined, and the republic received more than one ton of profit from this. After the mine was transferred to state ownership, the total income reached $ 3.4 billion, and the net profit reached $ 1.2 billion.

As part of the fight against corruption and organized crime, $ 125 billion was returned to the state treasury by 2024.

Over the past four years, more than 100 enterprises have been built, including gold mining and automobile plants, the construction of the Kambarata-1 hydroelectric power plant, the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway has begun, hundreds of schools, kindergartens, and hospitals have been built, domestic airports have been restored in a short time, and the number of flights has increased. For example, in 2021, 109 social facilities (59 schools, 12 kindergartens, 11 hospitals, 4 cultural facilities, 2 sports facilities, etc.) were built, while in 2024, 230 social facilities (100 schools, 31 kindergartens, 11 healthcare facilities, 7 cultural facilities, 13 sports facilities, 12 residential buildings, etc.) were built.

Significant achievements have also been made in improving the social protection of the population. For example, the minimum pension increased from 1,800 soms to 6,900 soms. The average pension reached 10,547 soms.

Analysts also consider the resolution of border issues with Uzbekistan and Tajikistan to be one of the important achievements.

In four years, S. Japarov has made dozens of visits to foreign countries to increase the country's prestige. In particular, in July 2024, he met with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in the city of Khiva. This visit opened a new page in Uzbek-Kyrgyz friendship and brotherhood.

According to the Kyrgyz press, in four years, S. Japarov has managed to break old views and stereotypes and lay the foundation for new governance. He set a goal of including Kyrgyzstan among the 30 most developed countries in the world.
