The UN General Assembly adopted two resolutions on the Russia-Ukraine war at its meeting on February 24. This was reported on the UN's social media page.
It is noted that the General Assembly initially adopted a resolution prepared by the countries of the European Union and Ukraine. The document, entitled "Promoting a comprehensive, just and durable peace in Ukraine," calls for a de-escalation of tensions, an immediate cessation of hostilities, and a peaceful resolution to the war.
93 countries voted in favor, 18 against, and 65 abstained (including Uzbekistan). The United States, Russia, and Hungary voted against the resolution. China abstained.

Later, the General Assembly voted in favor of the United States-drafted resolution "The Road to Peace." It is noted that the United States included amendments proposed by European countries in its resolution, in particular, replacing the words "the conflict between the Russian Federation and Ukraine" with the words "Russia's large-scale invasion."
The draft resolution was supported by 92 countries, with eight voting against (including Russia), and 73 abstaining, including the United States.
The UN General Assembly did not support the Russian amendment to the resolution prepared by the United States. According to the Russian Permanent Representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, the Russian Federation has made amendments to the document "On the need to eliminate the root causes of the Ukrainian crisis."
It should be recalled that in 2023, Uzbekistan abstained from voting on the UN resolution that noted Russian aggression.
