The American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) has predicted the consequences of the US stopping military aid to Ukraine.
According to analysts, this could lead to increased Russian aggression, the seizure of new territories and the destabilization of the entire region. The combat capabilities of the Ukrainian army are expected to be significantly undermined.
"The cessation of US military and financial assistance aimed at strengthening the Ukrainian defense industry could change the balance of power and give Russia a significant advantage on the battlefield, which would increase Moscow's chances of victory," the ISW report says.
Washington has repeatedly warned that if the arms supply is not resumed, the Ukrainian army will find itself in a difficult situation. Currently, political disagreements in the United States, as well as President Volodymyr Zelensky's conflict with Donald Trump, are preventing the approval of a new aid package for Kiev.
Against the background of these statements, experts warn that if military support for Ukraine is stopped, the consequences will be serious not only for Kiev, but also for the entire European security system.
Aid to Ukraine may be canceled immediately
All US aid to Ukraine, including the supply of ammunition and equipment authorized and paid for during the presidency of Joe Biden, may be canceled immediately. This was reported to The New York Times by an official representative of the Trump administration.
According to the Pentagon, the Defense Department has about $ 3.85 billion left in the funds authorized by Congress to allocate from the reserves. The last batch of weapons purchased by Ukraine from US defense companies is expected to be sent within the next six months. After that, Europe itself will have to support Ukraine.
After the scandal in the Oval Office, a representative of the Trump administration announced that the president may decide to end the indirect aid provided by the United States. This support includes other types of military funding, intelligence sharing, training of Ukrainian soldiers and pilots, and the placement of a communications center at a US military base in Germany that manages international aid.
"Such actions are a stunning abdication from a partner country in dire straits and signal an end to support," the publication noted.
