Zelensky: "Silence in the sky" is the first step towards peace
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called on international partners to increase pressure on Moscow after Russia's massive attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure. He stressed that Ukraine is ready for peace and has wanted it since the first day of the war.

Large-scale Russian attacks

According to Zelensky, on the night of March 7, the Russian army carried out another large-scale airstrike on Ukraine. As part of these attacks, Russia used about 70 cruise and ballistic missiles and about 200 attack drones.

"All strikes are aimed only at infrastructure facilities serving the civilian population. Russia's refusal to stop the war is a threat to the whole world. Therefore, the international community must increase pressure on Moscow," Zelensky said.

"Ceiling and sea" - the path to peace

The Ukrainian president stressed that the first step towards peace is to force Russia to stop its attacks on Ukraine.

"Ceiling and sea" means a ban on the use of missiles, drones and aerial bombs. Ceiling and sea - a guarantee of safe transportation of goods and economic activity. If such measures are not taken, there can be no talk of peace," Zelensky said.

Attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure

The Ukrainian energy sector has suffered significant damage in recent Russian attacks. Energy infrastructure in Poltava, Odessa and Ternopil regions was damaged. Russian forces also focused their main attacks on gas production facilities.

Ukrainian air defenses used French Mirage-2000 fighter jets to counter these attacks. These were delivered to Ukraine by France a month ago.

The war between Russia and Ukraine is becoming increasingly tense. Zelensky sees ensuring security in the sky and at sea as the first step to achieving peace. However, the continued attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure by the Russian side are further complicating the prospects for peace talks.

Ukraine is now demanding that the international community increase pressure on Russia and take measures to stop the war. The further development of this war may depend on international political agreements.
