In Georgia, Governor Brian Kemp has declared a state of emergency, urging residents to "be prepared" for more severe weather.

Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders also declared a state of emergency.

"Severe thunderstorms and tornadoes have hit Arkansas and continue to cause danger, hardship and suffering across the state, necessitating these actions," he said in a statement.

The National Weather Service's Weather Prediction Center said "severe thunderstorms" could bring lightning, strong winds, hail and new tornadoes.
