A cleaning company employee in Poland was arrested for attempting to systematically poison his colleague. This is reported by the In-Poland publication.
The 56-year-old accused employee was caught on camera committing the crime. He was filmed repeatedly adding a poisonous substance to his colleague's drink.
The victim's suspicions and signs of poisoning
The victim had been suffering from severe abdominal pain for several months, but attributed this to fatigue. Over time, her condition worsened and she was forced to go to the hospital. The results of the medical examination showed that she had signs of chemical poisoning.
"I woke up after the taste of tea and Coca-Cola at work seemed strange. But I couldn't believe that my colleagues were capable of this," the victim said.
The cause of the crime and legal measures
According to the investigation, there was a personal enmity between the accused and the victim. The suspect is currently facing up to 20 years in prison.
In addition, another employee of the company was aware of the situation, but did nothing to prevent the crime. Therefore, he can also be sentenced to up to 3 years in prison.
This case shows that serious attention should be paid to safety and employee relations in the workplace in Poland. In order to prevent such crimes in a team environment, cameras, surveillance systems and open communication between employees are necessary.
