
A 21-year-old Uzbek citizen was kidnapped by unknown individuals on March 30 in the Petergof area near St. Petersburg, Uz24.uz reported.
According to a witness, six or seven men beat the Uzbek migrant on Khalturina Street and forcibly pushed him into a nearby car. A friend of the victim, who was with him at the time, also got into the vehicle with the kidnappers. The group then disappeared from the scene.
Several hours later, the victim’s younger brother contacted law enforcement authorities. He stated that the unknown kidnappers called and demanded a ransom of 40,000 rubles in exchange for his brother’s return.
Law enforcement agencies are currently investigating the full details of the incident.
