On April 15, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte held a working meeting in Odesa, according to the official website of the President's Office.

During the meeting, Zelensky stated that Ukraine's need for air defense systems and other weapons was discussed.

“We hope our agreements with partners in Europe and the U.S. regarding air defense will come to fruition. We need Patriot systems and are ready to unite and raise funds to acquire them. These systems exist, and protecting ourselves from Russian ballistic missiles depends solely on the decisions of global leaders,” Zelensky said.

He also emphasized that not only Ukraine but all of Europe must unite for security, increase weapons production, and establish more joint defense enterprises.

According to Zelensky, the UK, France, and other NATO countries are already actively laying the groundwork for a security contingent, and it is important to act quickly and efficiently.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte assured continued NATO support for Ukraine:

“Our support is unwavering. NATO continues to provide political and other assistance to Ukraine. Training in Wiesbaden is bringing us even closer. In the first three months of this year, NATO partners provided over €20 billion in aid to Ukraine. We want Ukraine to remain sovereign and strong, capable of resisting any aggression. Today, I mentioned that Trump is holding negotiations with Ukraine and Russia to end the war and bring peace. It’s not easy, especially amid violence. But we all support Mr. Trump, and our partners in the UK and France are also taking steps toward peace in Ukraine,” he added.
