Work on the construction of a barrier on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border has begun
In the Qoshmolo district of the Tort-Gul rural district of the Batken region of Kyrgyzstan, work has begun on installing a special barrier on the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border. This was reported by 24.kg, citing the special representative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Batken region.

These works began at a point of strategic importance for the region - at the junction of the state borders of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. The ceremony, held online to mark the start of this event, was also attended by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Head of the State Committee for National Security Kamchibek Tashiev.

A special field camp has been built in order to effectively carry out construction work on the border, and the necessary equipment has been delivered to the area. In addition, comfortable living and working conditions have been created for the military personnel working here.

It is reported that at the initial stage, it is planned to install a barbed wire fence with a total length of 420 kilometers. These works are expected to be completed by the end of 2025.

It should be recalled that earlier it was announced that the work on the precise delimitation of the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border had been completed. On March 13, 2025, the presidents of the two countries signed an important bilateral agreement on this issue in Bishkek.
