11 Gold Medals and the Asian Crown: Uzbekistan Dominates MMA
Uzbekistan’s amateur MMA national team finished the GAMMA Asian Championship in Malaysia with a historic result. Our representatives won 11 gold, 7 silver and 2 bronze medals — 20 in total — to top the team standings.

Kazakhstan won more medals, but fewer golds

Kyrgyzstan completed the top three with 6 gold medals. Athletes from Indonesia and Tajikistan each won 5 titles.
Teams from Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Turkmenistan, Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Cambodia and Nepal also appeared in the medal standings.
The championship was held in Malaysia
The second GAMMA Asian Championship took place in Malaysia’s Putrajaya–Kuala Lumpur area from July 29 to August 2. The organization presented it as a major continental tournament showcasing the strength and unity of Asian amateur MMA.
GAMMA organizes continental and world championships under amateur rules in an Olympic-style tournament format. A defeated athlete is eliminated, while the winner advances to the next round. It is a high-pressure system in which every mistake can end a medal run.
