Israel launched air strikes on the Syrian capital: Netanyahu sent a serious signal to Damascus
The Israeli armed forces have attacked a facility near the presidential palace in the Syrian capital, Damascus. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz announced this in a joint statement on May 2 to the entire world community.

"This attack sends a very clear signal to the Syrian regime. We will never allow the introduction of military forces into southern Damascus or the threat to the Druze community," an official statement released by Reuters said.

According to reports, Israel is carrying out air strikes on Syrian territory for the second time in the past few days. These actions demonstrate the Israeli government's deep distrust of Syria's interim president, Ahmed al-Shara, according to international news agencies.

In turn, the United States strongly condemns the violence and repression against the Druze minority in Syria. US State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce said on May 1: "We consider the recent violence and dangerous rhetoric against members of the Druze community in Syria to be completely unacceptable."

The US official also called on the transitional government in Damascus to immediately cease hostilities, hold those responsible for the crimes accountable, and ensure the safety of all Syrian citizens.

According to international political analysts, further escalation of the situation in Syria will increase the likelihood of new conflicts in the region. Therefore, it is said that after this attack, the international community, including the United Nations, should take diplomatic measures to prevent the situation from worsening.
