The United States will pay $1,000 (approximately 12.5 million UZS) to undocumented immigrants who voluntarily leave the country, reports Nova24.uz. This program is developed by the Department of Homeland Security and implemented through the CBP Home mobile application.
Migrants can use this app to declare their intention to depart. Upon confirmation of their departure, they will receive travel expense reimbursement and a $1,000 stipend. This program aims to reduce the costs of forced deportation by approximately 70%.
According to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, this program is the safest and most cost-effective way for undocumented immigrants to leave the US. Participation may also preserve the opportunity for legal reentry in the future.
