Blasts, missiles and clashes in Kashmir: India-Pakistan conflict enters dangerous phase

On the night of May 7, Pakistan-controlled Kashmir once again witnessed large-scale military clashes. After midnight, local residents reported that several rockets were fired at the city of Muzaffarabad and its surroundings, followed by loud explosions. The incident completely disrupted the city's electricity supply.

The Indian Ministry of Defense, officially confirming the attack, called it "Operation Sindur." According to Indian sources, strikes were carried out against "terrorist infrastructure" in Kashmir. In total, nine targets were attacked. It is noted that modern surface-to-surface ballistic missiles were used in the attack.

Indian Defense Ministry:
"These strikes targeted only terrorist camps and logistics centers. No official Pakistani military installations were hit," the official statement said.

The Pakistani side also did not remain silent

The Pakistani Defense Ministry officially confirmed that India had targeted its territory with missile strikes. The government held an emergency security meeting and announced that measures would be taken in response to this aggression.

At the same time, the Pakistani aviation authority decided to close its airspace to all international and domestic flights for 48 hours. This move is being viewed as a precautionary measure against possible air attacks.

The conflict that arose escalated after the bloody attack in Jammu and Kashmir on April 22. The attack by armed militants in the popular tourist town of Pahalgam killed 26 people. A militant group operating from Pakistan-controlled Kashmir claimed responsibility.

Since then, the Indian government has taken a series of drastic measures against Pakistan: the border has been closed, Pakistani citizens have been forced to leave the country, and the level of military readiness has been increased.
