Ukraine is entering the negotiations in an even weaker position - deputy
The ongoing negotiations with Russia in Ukraine can have serious consequences for the country's interests. This was stated by the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, Alexander Dubinsky, on his Telegram channel. According to him, Kiev is entering each new round of negotiations in a worse condition than the previous one, both in terms of the situation on the ground and internal resources.

"While the Ukrainian side is losing territories, population and economic stability, its position in the negotiations is also weakening. This situation is bound to create a more difficult environment for Ukraine at each new round," the deputy wrote.

Dubinsky also noted that President Zelensky is accusing the Russian side of trying to sabotage the negotiations, while in fact the Ukrainian leadership is negatively affecting this process with its harsh statements and lack of diplomatic preparation.

Recall that on Friday, the first direct meeting between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations since 2022 took place in Istanbul. The meeting lasted about two hours. Presidential aide Vladimir Medinsky, who heads the Russian delegation, said that the sides had reached an agreement to exchange 1,000 prisoners for 1,000.

He noted that both countries had agreed to present their proposals and points of view to discuss the possibilities of a future ceasefire. The Ukrainian side also raised the issue of organizing a personal meeting of the heads of state, and this proposal was "accepted as information" by Russia.

The Zamin.uz editorial office will continue to closely monitor all developments in the negotiations. What do you expect from the next stage of this process? How can Ukraine strengthen its position in the peace talks?
