Powerful Solar Flares Detected on the Sun
Today, May 25, two powerful solar flares occurred: one of class X and another of class M. This was reported by the Fedorov Institute of Applied Geophysics.

According to the institute, at 04:52 Moscow time, an X1.1-class flare lasting 17 minutes was recorded in sunspot group 4098 (S05W22).

Additionally, at 09:35 Moscow time, an M-class flare lasting 11 minutes was observed.

For reference, solar flares are classified into five categories based on X-ray intensity: A, B, C, M, and X. X-class flares are the most powerful and can cause strong geomagnetic storms.
