Trump intends to send thousands of immigrants to the Guantanamo prison in Cuba
The problem of illegal immigrants in the United States is reaching a new stage. The Washington Post reports that the administration of former President Donald Trump intends to send about 9,000 illegal immigrants to a secret prison located at the Guantanamo military base in Cuba.

According to reports, in order to implement this decision, US officials will first conduct a medical examination of the migrants - their health and suitability for detention at this base will be determined. The planned relocation includes not only citizens of countries in the Americas, but also hundreds of people from European countries - Great Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Lithuania, Ireland, Belgium, the Netherlands, as well as Ukraine and Turkey.

According to WP sources, this decision may be implemented by Washington without consulting with allied countries. This increases the likelihood of diplomatic criticism on an international scale.

Recall that earlier this year, Trump announced his intention to send about 30 thousand illegal immigrants to this military base in Cuba. However, the capacity of the Guantanamo prison is still in question - so far it is designed to hold only hundreds of prisoners, and the military has managed to prepare at least 3 thousand additional places with the help of tents.

According to the White House, this measure is part of the preparation for the largest deportation process in American history, which Trump has promised. This is intended to free up space in overcrowded prisons in the country.

This decision is expected to cause serious discussions not only on migration policy, but also on human rights, international relations and legal processes.
