Serbia refused to sign the declaration on Ukraine
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic's refusal to sign a declaration at a summit of Southeast European countries on Ukraine has drawn international attention, the AFP news agency reported on the incident on June 11.

Romanian President Nicos Dan, Moldovan President Maia Sandu, as well as the leaders of Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece and other Balkan countries, who attended the summit, supported a declaration strongly condemning Russia's military aggression against Ukraine.

The document contains clear statements: "We strongly condemn Russia's brutal and unjust war against Ukraine," the statement said. In addition, the summit participants stressed their readiness to provide comprehensive support to Kiev for as long as necessary.

The statement proposed imposing additional sanctions against Russia, withdrawing all troops and military equipment from Ukraine, supporting Kiev's accession to the European Union and NATO, and establishing a special international tribunal.

The declaration stated that the main and non-negotiable condition for restoring peace was the complete withdrawal of Russian troops from the territory of Ukraine.

Serbia, however, stood out as the only country that did not sign this document. This decision, of course, is causing political discussions. Behind Vučić's position may lie geopolitical balance and caution in relations with Moscow.
