Zelensky voiced his position regarding the US strike on Iran

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky openly approved the US air strike on nuclear facilities in Iran carried out on June 22. This was reported by Al Jazeera. In his speech, President Zelensky reminded that Russia uses Shahed drones produced in Iran against Ukraine and emphasized that everyone knows where such weapons are coming from.

In his opinion, Iran's military support of Russia has led to tragic consequences, destruction, and human casualties for Ukraine and several other countries. "This tragic path, the risk of nuclear weapons, must be put to an end," Zelensky stressed.

The head of state noted that in the modern world, the proliferation of nuclear weapons cannot be allowed, and even considering the use of such weapons in any military conflict is unacceptable. "In this regard, the determination of the United States and the principled position of President Trump are of great importance," said Zelensky.

He also emphasized that ensuring peace in all regions, including the Middle East, the Persian Gulf, Europe, and Ukraine, must be based on the priority of diplomacy.

Attack on Kyiv and consequences

The enemy's missile strikes damaged not only military facilities but also residential buildings, a business center, a school, a metro station, and other social facilities. On the night of June 22, the US carried out a major strike on three key nuclear facilities in Iran by means of aviation and submarines. American B-2 strategic bombers dropped GBU-57 bunker-buster bombs weighing at least tens of tons on the Fordow uranium enrichment center located in the mountains. In the operation, which entered history as "Midnight Hammer," 75 bombs were dropped on targets.

At the same time, submarines launched about 30 Tomahawk cruise missiles at nuclear facilities in Natanz and Isfahan. After the attack, US President Trump announced that the targets were completely destroyed.

In response, Iran launched several ballistic missiles at Israel and for the first time used the newest Kheibar model with a range of 2,000 kilometers.
