North Korea is turning a new page in tourism. A huge coastal resort built in the city of Wonsan has officially opened its doors, writes kcna.kp. The new complex is considered the first project in the country's history with such a large-scale and modern infrastructure.

Hundreds of facilities have been built on the territory of the new resort: a central hotel with 20,000 beds, a number of smaller hotels, a modern water park, sports grounds, cultural and entertainment centers, large shopping complexes, and an airport with all the amenities. This project, called the "National Tourism Model in the DPRK," is aimed at attracting not only domestic but also international tourists.

The resort will officially begin receiving guests from July 1, regardless of the season. Another noteworthy feature: the new resort will be able to serve up to 100 thousand guests at a time. This will definitely be a major impetus for the development of tourism in the region. For North Korea, this project is expected to usher in a new stage in the industrial, infrastructure and service sectors.

The swimming season in the complex usually lasts from mid-June to mid-September. However, due to the various sports and cultural facilities available in the region, it is expected that the flow of visitors will not be interrupted throughout the year. The fact that the project was completed under the full supervision of the head of state once again confirms its importance for the development of the country.

According to experts, this resort can take the country's economy and image to a new level, and take a new place in regional competition. As the first tourist "fortress" of North Korea, the Wonsan resort is expected to attract the attention of tourists from around the world. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
