Mongolia to supply Uzbekistan with 2,000 tons of horse and halal lamb meat

Mongolia will export 2,000 tons of horse meat and halal lamb meat to Uzbekistan, Kursiv.uz reported, citing Montsame news agency.

Uzbek and Mongolian officials discussed meat supply arrangements. Both sides agreed on a unified quarantine and tariff policy and measures to ensure uninterrupted trade.

Tashkent also expressed interest in purchasing 100,000 Mongolian sheep and goats. In 2024, Mongolia had already supplied Uzbekistan with 7,000 sheep.

The parties also discussed cooperation in livestock breeding, agri-industry, and veterinary services.

As of early June 2025, Uzbekistan had imported $44.6 million worth of live animals (up 7.8% year-on-year) and $268 million worth of meat and meat products (up 66.1%).
