Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has been awarded the highest state order of the Republic of Turkey – the “Devlet Nişanı”. According to the Akorda press service, a solemn ceremony was held in Ankara, and the award was personally presented by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
In his speech, Erdoğan emphasized Tokayev’s great contribution to intergovernmental relations and noted that, thanks to his constructive and wise leadership, Kazakhstan has become a center of peace and stability in the region. Erdoğan also highly praised Kazakhstan's role in the Organization of Turkic States, adding, “You have always shown closeness and friendship to Turkey and the Turkish people. It is a great honor for me to present you with the highest award of our country.”
Tokayev, in turn, stated that he perceives this recognition not only as a personal honor, but also as a special sign of respect and trust for the entire Kazakh nation. He emphasized that the “Devlet Nişanı” order is a symbol of friendship and brotherhood, and this recognition is an important step towards strengthening the deep connections and shared historical and cultural values between the two peoples.
The head of Kazakhstan said, “This high award is a vivid demonstration of Turkey’s sincere respect and friendly relations towards the entire Kazakh people. Such recognition will become a solid foundation for further friendship and strategic cooperation between our nations.”
It is noteworthy that Tokayev usually declines to accept national and international awards, but he accepted this order as a symbol of friendship. This event has become a significant milestone in strengthening Kazakh–Turkish relations and regional cooperation.
Political analysts consider this event to be of historic significance. Relations between Turkey and Kazakhstan have reached a new stage, and this recognition will further reinforce the strategic partnership and friendly ties between the two countries.
