New Tensions Between Russia and the US: Trump’s Ultimatum and Moscow’s Response

The global political stage has once again heated up with disputes between Russia and the US. Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov, in his latest statement, particularly emphasized that the Russian economy has already developed strong immunity in the face of war and restrictions. According to him, the country’s economy has operated for many years under various sanctions and economic pressure, reported kremlin.ru.

Peskov also commented on US President Donald Trump’s new ultimatum to Russia. Trump demanded that Russia stop military operations within 10 days, and promised to introduce 100% tariffs and other strict measures for countries buying Russian oil and gas if the war does not stop within this period.

According to the Kremlin representative, Moscow treats these statements as information and continues to record all remarks by Trump and other international leaders. Peskov said: “We have already developed a certain immunity in this regard, and our economy has become accustomed to such situations.”

Meanwhile, the Chairwoman of the Federation Council, Valentina Matvienko, who is currently on an official visit to Switzerland, commented on Trump’s new demands. In her opinion, it is actually Ukraine that is abandoning serious intentions for peace, and ultimatums should be addressed specifically to Kyiv.

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also expressed its position on the matter. The official statement says: “Threats cannot positively influence the process of normalizing relations.”

Trump, in his speech, admitted that he does not know whether the new sanctions will affect Russia or not. He emphasized: “Putin is clearly determined to continue the war.”

US State Department press secretary Tammy Bruce, in turn, stated that Trump’s new ultimatum should be taken “seriously,” and that the patience of the US president should not be underestimated.

Recent events have further intensified the confrontation between the two countries. Experts are closely monitoring how such disputes may affect regional security, economic stability, and the geopolitical balance.

The public is keenly awaiting how this confrontation between Russia and the US will conclude, and what impact it will have on international relations.
