The verbal clash between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russia’s Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev has once again intensified on social media. This new exchange between the two political figures has drawn public attention and sparked serious debate in the media.
The tension began when Trump gave Russian President Vladimir Putin a 10-day deadline to reach a peace deal with Ukraine. This statement triggered strong reactions in the global media space.
In response, Dmitry Medvedev harshly criticized the demand through social media. On platform X, he wrote:
“Trump is playing ultimatum games with Russia: sometimes 50 days, sometimes 10. He needs to remember two things: 1. Russia is neither Israel nor Iran. 2. Every new ultimatum is a threat and a step toward war — not with Ukraine, but with his own country,” Medvedev wrote.
Trump responded to the criticism on his Truth Social platform. He called Medvedev a “loser” and advised him to watch his mouth:
“I don’t care what India is doing with Russia. They can destroy their dead economies together — that’s not my business. What matters is, tell the former failed president of Russia, who still thinks he’s a leader, to keep his mouth shut. He’s heading into dangerous territory,” Trump wrote.
Medvedev, in turn, responded to Trump’s harsh tone, saying that such a reaction only proves Russia is right:
“If a few words from Russia’s former president cause this kind of nervous reaction from the sitting U.S. president, then it means Russia is on the right path,” Medvedev stated on his Telegram channel.
He also responded sharply to Trump’s phrase “dead economy,” referencing nuclear deterrence:
“Let him remember his favorite movies about the living dead, and just how dangerous the so-called ‘Dead Hand’ truly is,” he wrote.
By “Dead Hand,” he referred to Russia’s nuclear retaliation system known domestically as “Perimeter,” which is known in the West as Dead Hand — an automated command structure for massive nuclear retaliation in case of attack.
These exchanges point to a possible escalation in global political tensions. Observers are closely watching for the next round of statements.
