Netanyahu Announces Five-Point Plan to End Gaza War

According to DW, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu presented his “five principles” plan to end the war in the Gaza Strip during a press conference in Jerusalem for foreign media representatives.

Under this plan, it is envisaged to disarm Hamas, release all Israeli hostages, turn Gaza into a completely demilitarized zone, and transfer authority in the region to a “non-Israeli civilian administration.”

In addition, according to the plan, the Israeli government will take control over Gaza to ensure security guarantees.

“Taking control of Gaza City is the most effective way to end the war. We have no choice but to finish what we started and completely destroy Hamas,” Netanyahu said.

He also promised to open “safe corridors” and new humanitarian aid points in the Gaza Strip.

“Our goal is not to occupy Gaza, but to liberate it,” the Israeli leader added.
