In Tanzania, the story of a 44-year-old man amazed both doctors and the public. He went to the hospital due to a pus-filled wound on his chest. Surprisingly, he reported no severe pain, coughing, or fever.
During the examination, doctors used X-rays and CT scans to discover a large part of a knife lodged in his chest. It turned out he had been injured during a fight 8 years earlier but had never sought medical help. He might not have known the knife was still in his body or simply ignored it.
Doctors quickly decided to perform surgery. The operation lasted several hours, and the knife was successfully removed. Specialists noted that such cases are extremely rare, as foreign objects usually cause serious complications if left inside the body for so long.
The patient’s condition is now stable, and he is recovering in the hospital. Officials reminded the public that any injury should be promptly examined by medical professionals.
