A 42-year-old woman traveling from Brazil to Switzerland was arrested at an international airport with a large quantity of drugs. She was departing from São Paulo when customs officials uncovered the narcotics through baggage X-ray inspection.
On August 2, officers found 5 kg of cocaine hidden inside several skirts in her suitcase. The following day, another suitcase belonging to her was searched, revealing an additional 5 kg of cocaine.
Authorities believe the woman was attempting to smuggle the drugs across international routes. The case may be linked to efforts to expand drug trafficking networks in Switzerland.
Currently, the suspect is under investigation. Reports confirm that deportation procedures have been initiated and the case will soon be forwarded to court.
