White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that the US continues negotiations on a new ceasefire plan between Israel and Hamas, which envisions a 60-day truce.
“I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Hamas accepted this proposal after the US President’s strong statement on Truth Social yesterday,” Karoline Leavitt said at a press briefing in Washington.
Although White House officials did not disclose further details, it was confirmed that negotiations are ongoing. The proposed truce is said to have the potential to ease tensions in the region.
Armed clashes between Israel and Hamas have claimed the lives of hundreds of civilians. The international community continues to demand an end to the war and the delivery of humanitarian aid.
The US leadership once again emphasized that it is continuing diplomatic efforts to ease the crisis in Gaza.
