The tragic incident that occurred in the Umraniye district of Istanbul deeply shocked the public. On August 17, 2025, it was reported that 33-year-old Uzbek woman Nigina Sattorova was killed by her husband Umid Sattorov, stabbed in the neck. The untimely death of the young woman became a shock not only for family members but also for the wider public.
The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul issued an official statement regarding this incident. According to the consulate, the deceased was from the Samarkand region and was temporarily employed in Istanbul. The incident occurred last week as a result of a conflict: a quarrel with her 35-year-old husband Umid Sattorov, caused by jealousy, led to tragic consequences.
During the investigative actions conducted by Istanbul police, the suspect was detained on the morning of August 18 in the Umraniye area. Additionally, B.O., originally from Jizzakh region, suspected of assisting in hiding the criminal, was also detained by the police.
After the completion of investigative actions, on August 19, the court applied a preventive measure of detention to the suspects. At present, the investigation is ongoing and all facts are being clarified.
At the same time, the necessary official documents for sending the body of the deceased to Uzbekistan have been prepared, and support and practical assistance are being provided by the Migration Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan. This process is of great importance not only for the family but also for compatriots, as issues of human life and family happiness are once again highlighted through such tragic events.
