After the recent natural disaster in Afghanistan, representatives of the country's government have now requested emergency assistance from Russia. This was announced by the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Afghanistan, Zamir Kabulov.
Kabulov emphasized, "We express our deepest condolences to the Afghan people and feel their pain in connection with this great tragedy. The Russian government is ready to take the necessary measures to support the Afghan population affected by the earthquake in the coming days by sending humanitarian aid," he said.
According to Afghan officials, more than 800 people have died as a result of this natural disaster, and more than 2.8 thousand people are suffering from various injuries. In some villages, houses were completely destroyed, and landslides blocked the roads. Communication lines are also disconnected, and access to information is limited.
Rescue and logistical operations are being carried out in remote mountainous areas under difficult natural conditions. The government and international organizations are taking urgent measures for the rapid evacuation of the population, the provision of health services, and the provision of necessary food.
