Starbucks supplier on the brink of crisis
Swiss-based company Thermoplan produces coffee machines for Starbucks. After U.S. President Donald Trump imposed a 39% tariff on Swiss goods, the company began suffering major losses. This situation has put the fate of more than 500 jobs at risk.

According to company head Adrian Steiner, the new tariffs are causing losses of around 200,000 francs (about $250,000) each week. Thermoplan is considering moving production to Germany or opening a plant in the United States.

Experts warn that if the tariffs are not lifted, thousands of workers in Switzerland could lose their jobs. Some firms are also exploring ways to shift production to the European Union.

Most of Thermoplan’s products are sold abroad. Starbucks is one of the company’s largest clients, and the current tariffs are negatively affecting this partnership as well.
