On September 4, US President Donald Trump organized a dinner at the White House for the heads of major technology companies. However, the absence of Elon Musk, the founder of Tesla, SpaceX, and the X platform, among the guests drew considerable attention. According to Euronews, Musk had previously been invited to the party but did not attend for personal reasons.
Among the distinguished guests gathered at the table, President Trump spoke with prominent industry figures such as Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, Apple CEO Tim Cook, and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. In his speech, he expressed pride in the work being done in the field of artificial intelligence and investments in the US economy, emphasizing that "This will take our country to a new level."
During the meeting, Trump began to inquire about the amount of investment for the country's development from each company's leader. Mark Zuckerberg and Tim Cook cited figures around $600 billion. Sundar Pichai, managing Google's Alphabet holding company, announced a $250 billion investment. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella announced that the company will invest up to $80 billion annually. Trump rated these figures as "very good results."
The feast was also attended by several other celebrities, including IBM President Arvind Krishna, Code.org founder Cameron Wilson, Oracle CEO Safra Kas, Blue Origin CEO David Limp, Palantir CEO Shyam Sankar, and Scale AI founder Alexander Wang.
The White House confirmed that this event was noted as one of the next important steps in Trump's relationship with technology companies. As can be seen from the opinions expressed by the guests, they have high hopes for the prospects of innovation and development in the country.
