US President Donald Trump said he was unhappy about Israel's air strike in Qatar. He called the incident "not pleasing" and stressed that the issue of hostages must be resolved.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu defended the strike. According to him, it targeted Hamas leaders who organised the October 7, 2023 attack. Hamas said five of its members were killed and noted that the main negotiators survived.
Qatar condemned the strike, calling it a violation of international law. The UN and several countries also expressed concern. Saudi Arabia described it as an act of open aggression.
According to Israeli media, 15 aircraft took part in the strike and senior Hamas figures were targeted. Experts say the incident could negatively affect ceasefire talks.
