US President Donald Trump clashed with Australian journalist John Lyons from ABC during a question-and-answer session. The journalist asked how much his wealth had increased since returning to the presidency. Trump called the question “hurting Australia” and expressed his displeasure.
Trump said his children manage the business and avoided answering the question. He reminded about an upcoming meeting with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese: “I will tell him about you.” When another question was asked, he told the journalist to “be quiet.”
Recently, US-Australia relations have cooled. The US imposed additional tariffs on Australian exports. Albanese described this as “not friendly.”
Lyons called Trump’s reaction unreasonable. He said his questions were normal and fair. ABC stated the questions were part of a program examining Trump’s business activities.
