Venice: a gondola dream ride is not always successful
When talking about Venice, we imagine water canals and gondolas floating on them. However, tourists are so many that an ordinary walk turns not into a magical impression but into fatigue among the crowd. A gondola ride also does not always turn out as expected. The gondolier is not obliged to talk about landmarks, and the route often goes far from the romantic places shown in photos.
Santorini: ancient beauty spoiled by the crowd
The Aegean island of Santorini in photos looks like a fairy tale. Houses carved into cliffs, sapphire waters, and white buildings impress everyone. Its famous sunset attracts people from all over the world. But the drawback of this place is the excessive number of tourists. They ruin the romantic atmosphere of the island and diminish the impression.

One of Prague’s symbols is Charles Bridge. On the internet, you often see misty and empty-looking pictures. But in reality it is different. Even at midnight, the bridge is crowded with tourists. Everyone wants to take a photo of the illuminated castle, and because of this the whole atmosphere is lost. Travelers say that the statues on the bridge do not look as impressive, but rather gray and dark.
Mongolia: difficult conditions instead of romantic imagination
When thinking about Mongolia, many imagine vast steppes, horses, and people in national clothes. But life in this country is more difficult. Only 20 percent of the roads are paved, and the population is mostly nomadic. In many areas there is no mobile connection, and in villages you may find a pharmacy or a small shop. Restaurants or hotels cannot be expected. But local markets and grocery stores turn out to be better supplied than expected.
Antarctica: not romantic, but a challenging journey
Antarctica is a dream for many. But going there is expensive and dangerous. The most difficult part for travelers is crossing the Drake Passage. It is one of the stormiest sea routes on Earth. Wind speed can reach 100 km/h, and wave height up to 15 meters. In the 17th–19th centuries, hundreds of ships sank there. Therefore, a trip to Antarctica is not only a dream but also a serious challenge.
