USA: No plan to change Syria’s government

The United States of America has no intention of changing the current government in Syria. This was stated by the U.S. Special Representative for Syria and Ambassador to Ankara, Tom Barak.

According to him, Washington is also not planning to deploy troops to Syria. The main priority is to effectively fight terrorism.

Barak also expressed confidence in the political future of the current president, Ahmad al-Shaara, saying:
“I trust him. His goals align with our priorities — ensuring peace and stability in Syria. However, various ethnic and political interests naturally complicate this process.”

Thus, the U.S. position on Syria has once again been emphasized: not regime change, but strengthening security and stability.
