The abdication ceremony took place in Luxembourg

On October 3, the abdication of Grand Duke Henry, who ruled the country for a quarter of a century, took place in Luxembourg. In this historic event, 70-year-old Henri handed over the leadership of the state to his eldest son Guillaume. Guillaume, for the first time as the head of the country, accepted new responsibilities and took on great responsibility.

This decision, in fact, was expected for Henry, who, on his own initiative, announced last year that he would hand over the throne to his son. Guillaume, aged 43, studied in France and Switzerland before graduating from the Sandhurst Royal Military Academy. He has also worked in a number of large international companies and has experience on a global scale.

The family of Guillaume and his wife, Stephanie de Lannogo, is also of great importance in the country. They are raising two children - two sons, 5 and 2 years old.

After the ceremony, the new Grand Duke swore an oath with genuine conviction to value the constitution of Luxembourg and to develop its state policy. The prince's coronation ceremony took place immediately after the abdication of the Grand Duke Henry. The ceremony was also attended by 60 members of the National Parliament of Luxembourg.

The new Grand Duke Guillaume is also scheduled to tour the country on Saturday. The celebration will conclude on Sunday, October 5th, with a solemn ceremony at Notre Dame Cathedral in Luxembourg. This ceremony aims to mark the country's entry into a new stage and spread all the news about Luxembourg's new rule to the world.
