The growth rate of the world's population varies - in some countries, the number of children is sharply decreasing, while in others, on the contrary, the birth rate remains high.
According to open sources, the country with the lowest birth rate at the end of 2024 was Malta. Here, one woman gave birth to an average of 1.06 children in her lifetime. Taiwan (1.11), South Korea (1.12), Spain (1.12), Singapore (1.17), Lithuania (1.18), Poland (1.20), Italy (1.21), Ukraine (1.22), and Hong Kong (1.24) are also among the countries with a low birth rate.
On the other hand, there are countries with the highest birth rates. Niger (6.64) is at the top of the list. At the same time, birth rates are also very high in such countries as Angola (5.7), Congo (5.49), Mali (5.35), Benin (5.34), Chad (5.24), Uganda (5.17), Somalia (5.12), South Sudan (5.09), and Burundi (4.9).
The global average was 2.33 children.
