The Israeli government and Hamas have reached a ceasefire agreement. According to the deal, the ceasefire takes effect within 24 hours, and hostages will be released within 72 hours.
Israeli troops are withdrawing from the southern and central parts of Gaza, but some fighting continues in certain areas. Residents have begun returning to damaged neighborhoods.
Hamas’s former leader Khalil Al-Hayya said he received guarantees that the war is over. As part of the deal, food and medical aid will be delivered to Gaza.
However, the list of hostages and prisoners has not yet been published, and other issues still need to be resolved for the ceasefire to be fully implemented.
