The technologies being implemented in China have taken another step forward — now robot dogs equipped with artificial intelligence have joined the police service. According to Global Times, intelligent robots performing patrol duties are currently being tested on the streets of Hangzhou.
It is noted that these devices are planned to be fully integrated into the police force by the end of the month. They are equipped with high-precision cameras, motion sensors, and an artificial intelligence system. Thanks to these features, the robots can independently analyze their surroundings and make real-time decisions.
The robot dogs are mainly used to detect traffic violations, especially vehicles parked in prohibited areas, as well as to monitor public order and ensure safety. As assistants to police officers, they can perform patrol duties both during the day and at night.
Experts believe that such projects represent an important step toward the digitalization and automation of China’s security system. Some specialists emphasize that robot dogs cannot completely replace humans, but they can be highly effective in dangerous areas or emergency situations.
If the experiment in Hangzhou proves successful, the project is expected to be implemented in other cities as well. Through this initiative, the Chinese government aims to bring public safety to a new level.
