Nigeria has been suffering from the activities of armed groups and extremist groups for several years. Among them are organizations such as Boko Haram and ISIS's West African branch, ISWAP. These groups carry out kidnappings, explosions, and terrorist attacks in various regions of the country.
Although the law provides for the death penalty for kidnapping, this type of crime is still widespread. Armed individuals primarily target villages, schools, and pedestrians in the north of the country, demanding compensation.
