Irina fled the war in Ukraine and came to the USA with the hope of starting a new life. He studied English and got a job independently. But on August 22, a tragic incident occurred - Brown stabbed her three times on public transport, and the woman died at the scene.
It turned out that the accused had previously been prosecuted for armed robbery and theft. After the attack, he was immediately detained by the police.
Irina's relatives demand the restoration of justice and thank the prosecutor's office for its firm position.
After the tragedy, the governor of North Carolina signed the "Irina Act." According to the new law, courts will be required to carefully assess the degree of danger of the offender before determining the amount of bail.
This law was adopted to ensure the safety of citizens and prevent such situations.
