An unusual incident occurred in Mexico City, reported “Associated Press.”
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum was interacting with citizens in the historic center of the capital when an intoxicated man approached her from behind and acted inappropriately.
In the video footage, the man appears to lean in as if to kiss the president and touches her with his hands. Sheinbaum gently rejected his actions, pushing his hands away and saying, “Don’t worry,” while trying to defuse the situation.
One of the government representatives intervened, but the president’s administration has not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident.
For reference, Claudia Sheinbaum, like her predecessor and political mentor Andrés Manuel López Obrador, prefers direct contact with the public. She frequently mingles with crowds, poses for photos, and greets people with handshakes.
However, this time, her security team failed to react immediately, which did not go unnoticed.
