Political tensions between North Korea and the United States have escalated again. Pyongyang officials responded to the latest sanctions imposed by Washington with a harsh statement. This was reported by the country's central news agency.
The statement emphasizes that the US policy of achieving results through pressure, threats, and deception has no impact on the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).
"The US sanctions will not affect our way of thinking or the political position of our country. This is just another proof of Washington's failed policy towards North Korea," stated North Korean Deputy Foreign Minister Kim In Chhor.
Pyongyang also called the influence of sanctions a "foolish attempt" and stated that it would respond appropriately to the "hostile position" of the US.
North Korea believes that the policy of pressure applied by Washington only exacerbates the conflict and will not yield any diplomatic results.
For information, on November 4 of this year, the US Treasury Department imposed sanctions against eight North Korean citizens and two legal entities accused of cybercrime and illegal embezzlement of funds using information technology.
This activity has previously been one of the main accusations against Pyongyang. According to US officials, North Korean hackers have managed to steal more than three billion dollars of cryptocurrency through cyberattacks since 2017. It is noted that such attacks are carried out by special groups associated with North Korean intelligence.
North Korean-US relations have cooled considerably since three meetings between Kim Jong Un and Donald Trump in 2018-2019. Although both sides stated at that time that negotiations would continue through diplomatic channels, Pyongyang later refused to engage.
This year, Trump expressed his intention to meet with Kim Jong Un again during his Asian tour, but this plan did not materialize. In September, the North Korean leader called on the US "not to demand that Pyongyang abandon its nuclear program."

Meanwhile, information about North Korea's military cooperation with Russia is also increasing. International analysts emphasize that Pyongyang is providing military assistance to Moscow in the war in Ukraine. According to South Korea's National Intelligence Service, approximately 10,000 North Korean soldiers have been deployed near the Russian-Ukrainian border, and there have been reports of another 5,000 soldiers recently deployed.
The Kim Jong-un administration once again emphasized its independent political path in the international arena, rejecting Washington's attempts to gain political advantage through sanctions pressure.
